What makes us put a smile on our face? It is nothing but happiness. Happy people have a longer life too. Happiness gives a positive outlook towards our life. If we see a person sitting always gloomily we also tend to feel sad and gloomy. On the contrary, if we see a happy person always with a smile on face, we also tend to feel the same way however sad we might be. This is nothing but the character and quality of a happy person. A happy person spreads happiness everywhere.

As a saying goes by “Cynthia Nelms”, “Nobody ever cares if you are miserable so you would rather be happy”. Most people take this quotation into note and try to be happy and live as happy persons throughout their life.

Let us see the 5 Qualities of Happy Person:

Respecting Oneself: Happy people always respect themselves. They feel good for what they are. They never regret for any negativities which they come across. They always try for betterment and that also with a smile on the face. A smile takes a person to the zenith of life. So respecting oneself is one of the qualities of a happy person.

Forgiveness And Generosity: The above given words are the qualities which every human being possess and which every religion teaches but the person does not put out because he/she becomes a victim of jealousy and hatred and selfishness. With those two qualities a man can win million friends and their support. A happy person always tries to forgive his enemies and be generous to everyone. In this sentence, I used the word try because being a human being, we all have negative points. A happy person always tries to overcome the bad qualities like jealousy, meanness and revengeful attitude. The quality of a happy person is to forgive and be considerate and generous.

Optimism: This is the main quality which a happy person possesses. Without this quality, nobody can ever be happy. Optimism gives a person a positive outlook towards life and helps the person to move forward. Just think without being optimistic no person could ever walk or even try to walk from childhood. We read news in the papers about a handicapped person swimming in the water and winning a game or a cancer patient winning a cycle race and so on and so forth. This comes through positive outlook towards life. These people because of optimism do the work and win it and become happy persons.

Living In The Present:Past is buried heap and future is an unknown destiny. So try to live in the present. A happy person always lives in the present. Happy person never grooms over the past nor worries about the future. What happens if we just sit thinking about some bad thing happened in the past. We can never change the past. Anything which has to happen to us in the future is not our hands. The only thing which is in our hands is the present and its time. If only we act in the present, we can improve our future. If a person does not take timely action in the present and feel bad about it in the future, then what can be done? Present definitely becomes a past in the coming the years. In the process the person does nothing but grooming about the past and the future becoming unproductive. This is another quality of a happy person.

Avoiding Apprehensions Or Worries: A happy person avoids fears. Most people fear for everything. Fear of qualifying in the exam, fear of applying for a job, fear for doing the job and facing the situations over there; even fear to live. Fear is not good for brain and a person’s health. Fear destroys the hope to live. Happy people avoid all these fears.

Gist:The main qualities of happy people listed above give us a ray of hope to live our life and flourish in our life. When a life is given by GOD to human beings it is to live happily. Happiness and sorrow are two sides of the same coin. When seen from one side we have hope and goodness; the other side is apathy and grief. Everybody faces both. But a happy person faces even sorrow with happiness. This helps to be a better person and win million hearts. The lives of happy people are an example for us to lead a happy life which is full of vigor, energy, contentment and peace.
