DOWRY SYSTEM is one of the major drawbacks in our culture which can even show the cruelest face of human being to all. This is considered as a major hurdle in building a good and healthy society (in any religion).But one important question that arises is that should it e completely banned or not? Or rather Can it be completely banned or not?
The answer to this question could be ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ depending on the conditions and mind-set of people. Nowadays not only common man but many rich people of the society still believe in dowry system as a mean to show their status symbol. They don’t realize that they can be considered as role model by a common man and this can severely affect the society. Dowry was initially started for the purpose of helping the newly married couple start their married life with ease but nowadays despite the fact that the living condition of all the people has improved drastically Dowry System is increasing day by day and causing many social problems to arise also.
So what is the solution to this problem which is becoming un-solvable day by day? As per my views the dowry system should not be banned but should be re-defined by us. Now if someone asks me that what dose this re-definition include? I should say that the dowry given in terms of money and other wealthy things should be banned (or rather avoided by both the bride and the bridegroom) but instead a dowry-bag full of promises for lifetime, good character and a trusty relationship should be given by both the bride and the bridegroom to each other which will further increase the depth of their relationship with each other and will tighten more the bond between not them only but between the two families uniting also.
Some people may think that it is a dream that I am watching but they should not forget that dreams do come true if they have a good intention and hard work is done by us to make the dream seen by our eye a reality. And I think that soon this dream will be in the eyes of many new generation people and the day when social awareness will arise to its peak among the common man than we can also get rid of this major social-evil. May God let my dream come true in this lifetime only?
