When the entire nation is celebrating 60 years of independence then if somebody asks the people that are we really independent then people might think that person to be a fool, but may be he is not. Independence means only freedom from the British Empire for most of the citizens of this country but in the true sense may be we are still not independent. Then what is that which has prevented us from getting a complete independence? Does anybody have the answer to this question? I think I have.
Independence just doesn’t means getting freed from the rule of someone else or setting up a Constitution and continuously claiming that we are the biggest republic of the world. Independence in real sense means that the most neglected person of the country should enjoy all the rights given to him in a true or complete sense. These are not only my views but many great people of this country had these kinds of views and some of them worked throughout their life to make this happen.
But in present day I don’t think that most of the people understand the deep meaning of these thoughts. A poor man is becoming day by day more poor despite of all the planning done by the Central and State Governments. What is the reason behind such a condition of those persons?
The main reason is the basic flaw in the structure which is surrounded around us.Bribery, Corruption, Bhai-Bhateejawaad, Evil Politics, and many other diseases are eating up our society and our country form inside and nobody is capable of healing them completely.
Millions of people in the country of having a population of more than 110 crore people are still homeless and poor, many people still cannot have two times of healthy and nutritious food for themselves and their family members, many people don’t have proper clothes to wear neither proper place to sleep in the night, and many other tough situations are there which is faced by the poor man may he/she be living in any colony, any city or any state of this vast Independent country.
For poor people country’s increasing population is not a matter to think of, they just want more child because for them the theory is that more the number of children in the family more are the earning members in the family, still many areas are there where girls are not given proper respect and care that they should deserve because still in those areas the thinking is that boys are better than girls, many rape cases, kidnapping cases, robbery cases are still not reported in police stations because the poor people are not capable of satisfying the police or taking a decision to fight against the big shots people included in those cases, many women still don’t complaint against the misbehavior done to them may be in their father’s home or their husband’s home because they are always taught to be quiet otherwise they have to give answer to the people or the society which they cannot. These are just a small list of various odd situations surrounded by our nearby. If somebody explores then he/she might find out a new odd situation also.
Aren’t these situations or cases are threatening for the biggest democratic nation of the world.Yes, they are. Then can we say that despite of surrounding by such threatening situations, despite of all the people not completely satisfied, despite of all odds and bad things happening every now and then with someone, we are completely independent?
No, I don’t; think that the answer to this question should be YES. It should be a NO.But, we should not stop here. We should realize that our combined efforts (i.e. the effort of each and every citizen of the country), can help to make this big NO to be converted to a pleasant YES.
And being the citizen of the country which is the largest democratic country of the World, a country to which the entire World is looking in the 21st century as the new leader of the 21st century, it is the duty of ourselves only that we should tie hands together to make our country completely independent.
A country where people don’t discriminate against each other on the basis of cast, religion, economic status, a country where each and every facility is enjoyed fully by the most neglected person also is such a kind of dream which was there in the eyes of great freedom fighters and other great leaders of the past and it is the duty of us to make their dream a reality by our continuous efforts so that this country can become independent in a real sense.
